My entry for the the

club's Inner Demons & Dreams challenge. I wanted it to be a dark theme but done with bright girly colors. I added the watercolors to give it a dreamlike quality. It is def the longest I've ever spent on a piece, but I had fun with the mixed media.

Done with prismacolor pencils, dr ph martins watercolors, and soft pastels on bristol board.

This. Is. STUNNING. I love the entire thing, the colors, the idea, the expression, everything. The tattoos are a lovely, symbolic part of this work. Without them, we could not taste the true meaning of this piece, so wonderful idea to paint the girl's skin. The mask adds countless depth to this. It's like the demon in her soul are bleeding out through the mask and the skin tattoos, fighting to be recognized, yearning to be set free. Another thing is the mix of classic glamour, blonde hair and red lips, with the fantastic. Perfect balance, and truly awesome work.
